UFC 264 Is Over But the Rivalry Between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier Goes On!

UFC PPV, which took place on 11 July 2021, was a huge fight card. Conor and Dustin were fighting to end their rivalry and show who owns the lightweight division. Although most things went as the MMA gurus were expecting, the main fight had a weird end.

Conor had claimed Dustin will leave the octagon on a stretcher, but Dustin turned the tables. The Irish fighter got his leg broken at the end of the first round and Dustin won this fight by KO/TKO. UFC President Dana White shared his thoughts about the main event and said it isn’t over!

What about the main fight card?

The UFC 264 main fight card featured five bouts in five weight classes. Sean O’Malley defeated Kris Moutinho in a fearsome bout by TKO in the bantamweight division. It was the Fight of the Night by the way! Irene Aldana won the bout against Yana Kunitskaya in the catchweight division and Tai Tuivasa defeated Greg Hardy in the heavyweight division.

Gilbert Burns and Stephen Thompson fought in the co-main event. It was a great battle, but Burns was a superior fighter and he won the bout by decision. It was the moment to find out whether Conor can walk the talk or not. Nobody had anticipated what happened next!

Both Conor and Dustin Said It Isn’t Over Yet!

Everybody was thinking Dustin Poirier will go for the championship when he had defeated Conor in their second encounter. He proved everyone wrong and went for the money fight. He wanted to end the rivalry between him and McGregor, but things were different at this time.

Conor wasn’t as polite and humble as he was during their second fight. He chose to get into Dustin’s mind, but it had a little effect on Poirier. He smashed Conor as long as the fight lasted and then things headed south for Conor.
